I chose to write a blog on the movie “She’s the Man”. This movie
came out in 2006. The main characters in this movie include Amanda Bynes,
Channing Tatum, James Kirk, and Laura Ramsey. Viola (played by Amanda Bynes) discovered that
her school’s woman’s soccer team has been cut. She wanted to try out for the men’s
soccer team but the coach wouldn’t allow it. Her boyfriend (captain of the
team) laughed at her when she mentioned it so she broke up with him. Her twin brother (Sebastian) was about to
start school at the rival school and he asked her to cover for him. She decided
to pretend to be him and make the soccer team there and beat her schools men’s
soccer team. While pretending to be Sebastian she starts to like the captain of
the soccer team who is also her roommate (Duke). Duke on the other hand liked
the girl who likes Sebastian (Viola). She
ends up making the team but right before the big match against her real school
her brother comes back early and messes everything up. The girl who likes Sebastian
went up to him and kissed him and Duke who likes her saw and got very upset. Viola
didn’t know anything about it and when she went back to the room she got kicked
out. At the end of the movie they figured out that she was a girl. The other
team (her real school) wanted the team to be disqualified but the coach of the
other team stuck up for her. They ended up beating the other team because viola
had a penalty kick. She scored and won the game like she planned on. Viola and duke started dating, as well Sebastian
and the girl. I really enjoy this movie it is one of my favorite. I play soccer
and I understand what viola felt like. You shouldn’t be discriminated on for
your gender. If you are good enough you should be able to play with the
boys. I recommend this movie to anyone
who likes a good comedy.

My name is Elizabeth Woodmancy but you can call me Liz. I love the summer time and enjoy having fun with my friends. There is never a dull moment in my life. I consider myself to be fun, outgoing and a good friend to have. I live in Brooklyn, Connecticut and spend weekends working at a local restaurant called Johnny's Pizza. The best thing about my job is that I work with my best friend. I love being a waitress and enjoy goofing off with her whenever we get the chance. I am very independent for my age and can say I have already had seven jobs, I am working material. I have also been lucky enough to have already completed an internship in my major. I hope to one day be graduated with a degree in Human Resource Management and be working at a College University. I hope to gain from this course the skills for professional activities such as office productivity. I am slightly addicted to social networks so I know a little about computers and the internet however, I would like to be more advanced and have the knowledge to create communications in different types of media.

My name is Dino Porcic and I am a freshman at Nichols College. My major
is International Business but I am unsure as if that's what I will stick
with because im really big on sports so i might go to sport managment. I am from Serbia but i currently live in Putnam,CT. I got
recruited to play basketball here at Nichols my senior year so I'm
looking forward to the season and winning multiple championships. I went
to Putnam High School for 3 years and i went to a prep school
my sophomore year because i got a scholarship for basketball. It was an
all guys school which is the reason I left after one year. I also
played soccer all 4 years in high school. So I am all about sports. My
favorite team is and always will be the Boston Celtics.
This semester in this class I wish to further my skills in computers and all the programs it has to offer. I took a few computer classes in high school so i have a good general idea of whats going on.

The blog I picked was a blog about how the celtics are 4-0 without there star point guard Rajon Rondo. It explains how Rondo had a season ending ACL injury and wont be back until next season but somehow they are still winning. This blog is credible because its the teams official webpage and is written by legit writers. This blog interests me because I am a huge fan of the celtics so anything that has to do with them im interested.
Jason Pawlowski
Hi my name is Jason Pawlowski and I'm from Webster, Ma. I'm a freshman here at Nichols College and am a business management major. I went to Whitisville Christian School since I was in kindergarten so college was definitely an adjustment since I went to school with the same kids since I was 5. When I was in high school I ran track for all 4 years and ended up leaving high school with two school records. In my senior year we won District champs in indoor track. My last race I ran senior year in high school I was seated at 22nd in my race, but ended up getting 8th in the state which was a big upset and a great way to end my running career. My sophomore year of high school, I started working at Market Basket in Oxford, Ma and still work there now. I am now a front end assistant manager which gives me a good amount of experience since I'm studying business management.
I am currently a freshman here at Nichols College and like I said I am studying business management. I hope that this course will teach me how to use Microsoft Office and other things much more effectively in the business world.
In my spare time, I'm almost always outside doing something. Most of the time, I'm off roading with all my friends. I found this blog on ATVs that I found very cool. It has a bunch of different information on a ton of off roading things, upcoming models and information on current riders. I ride everything from ATVs, to dirt bikes, to UTVs and will even go off roading in my truck if the trails are wide enough. By far my favorite part of riding season is mud season.

A little about Me
My name is Nicole Caron. I live in Dudley, Massachusetts and besides moving a few times I have lived here my entire life. I am a freshman in my second semester. My major is English Education and after I graduate I plan on being a high school English teacher close to home. I work at Park 'N' Shop, which is a grocery store in Dudley. One thing that I really love to do is listen to music. I will listen to almost anything that is on the radio, but I mostly like country music and "new" music. My favorite song right now is "Come Wake Me Up" by Rascal Flatts.
I have two dogs who I love very much and two cats, who I am not too fond of (I'm not a big fan of cats). I live at home with my parents and I am a commuter, which isn't that great because I am not involved a lot on campus. Another thing that I really love is to run. I live by a school so I go to the track sometimes and just run some laps while listening to music. I like to read and write and I hope to write a novel one day. My all-time favorite novel would have to be Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. He's the man. Once I get settled into my new classes this semester, I am going to start teaching an after school program up the hill at Dudley Middle School. Because they do not have an after school English program of any kind (not even a newspaper) I will be "guiding" them through some aspects of English and in the end they will produce a book of things that they have done in the program, such as poetry and short stories they have written. I am really looking forward to this experience. In this class, I hope to become better at using computer programs in general, since I am not very tech savvy.
The blog that I found to be interesting is one about English literature and reviews and opinions on books that have recently been released. Although not many people are interested in literature (with Nichols being mainly a business school) but it never hurts to read a good book now and then, so check out the blog and hope you enjoy it!

My name is Adrianna Soldevila. I am from Hartford, Connecticut and my nationality is Puerto Rican. I graduated from Northwest Catholic High School in June 2012. Throughout my high school years I was a cheerleader and I loved it. My senior year was our best year, I was also given the opportunity to be the captain of a team of dedicated cheerleaders like myself.
While searching for the right college for me, I was also looking for a great team for me to be a part of. Nichols College was the perfect fit. Now I attend Nichols College and I am also a member of the cheerleading team here and this year we are going to Nationals at Daytona Beach, Florida April 9 -14. This is an opportunity of a life time and cant wait. I currently double major in Business Management and General Business. My roommate is Caitlin Michaiski . The reason for a double major is because I do have my future planned out and i would like to reopen my fathers business in electronics for cars. It was closed down in 2008 and ever since then it has been my dream to reopen it and live his dream. I came to college with a goal, and I want to leave college with a couple steps closer to that goal.
I think that taking this course I will strengthen my computer skills and help me how to build power points and brochures that i will need to make to promote my business. This one way that I can be closer to my goal. This is because every small business need these aspects to be successful.
The blog that I chose was All Star Cheerleading because I find cheerleading very interesting. To see what other teams put together for the routine is cool. This is because every team has a different routine and watching them can help you build ideas for your own team. My senior year my coaches and I put our whole routine together from dances, cheer, and stunts. It was a long hard process but it was that was worth it. One thing that helped us develop ideas was watching other teams and what they were able to come up with. This blog was also appealing to me because it did not only have videos but it also had gym information for you if you are interested in cheerleading. This blog is not only appealing and interesting but it also very informative.
Top 5 Red Sox Prospects
My name is Matthew McKay and I am from Webster, Massachusetts. I am an avid sports fan who enjoys studying sports statistics. I am hoping this class will teach me how to express my love of sports online. I also want to strengthen my skills in such programs as Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Blogger. This class should make me very comfortable with all aspects of the internet that may be beneficiary to me in the future.
One thing I greatly enjoy is Major League Baseball. The Boston Red Sox are my favorite team and I follow all aspects of the team. That is why I decided to write this blog on the Red Sox top prospects for the upcoming year. I chose this blog because it is a website with a strong reputation that strives to only put forth the most factual information. The blog describes when and how the Red Sox top prospects will contribute in the Major Leagues. Reading the blog made me think of who I feel are the top five prospects in the Red Sox organization. This is what I came up with:
1.) Xander Bogaerts SS: Bogaerts is a 20 year old superstar in the making. As Bogaerts body begins to fill out he will eventually become a power hitting third-baseman. Xander Bogaerts is a unanimous choice for the Red Sox best prospect and ranks 20th in all of baseball.
2.) Jackie Bradley Jr. OF: Bradley is a projected gold glove candidate center fielder. Jackie Bradley will make is impact in the majors as a defensive guru and a leadoff hitter who could easily hit somewhere between .280-.300.
3.) Matt Barnes SP: Matt Barnes is a power throwing right handed pitcher that may be the number 1 in the Red Sox rotation one day. Barnes has an explosive fastball that routinely sits in the mid 90's. The floor for Barnes is a good number 3 starter on any Major League team.
4.) Allen Webster P: Allen Webster is a very interesting prospect for the Red Sox. He may one day be a solid number 3 starter for Boston or, if he can gain better command of his fastball, the closer of the future. Allen Webster has above-average velocity on his fastball and an advanced changeup.
5.) Garin Cecchini 3B: Garin Cecchini is a prospect that not many fans know about. Cecchini has very good speed and has rarely been caught trying to steal a base. As he gets stronger, Cecchini, will lose some of his speed but should develop more power. Garin Cecchini may one day be an All Star third baseman for Boston.
