My name is Taylor DeGray I am from East Longmeadow, MA a small town outside of Springfield. I am a freshman here at Nichols and I am on the cheerleading team. In April we will be attending Nationals in Daytona, Florida in hopes to prove to our peers and other coaches that we are in fact a varsity sport.
When I'm not doing school work or cheerleading I usually work or hang out with friends. I work as a nanny in my hometown for three kids that are autistic, my job includes cooking them meals, cleaning the house, bringing them to sports, picking them up and dropping them off at school, and lastly find dun things to do with them. I am usually with them 5 days a week from 8-5:30. This job has taught me so many things like, patience and how to handle young kids. It has also taught me a lot about autism and what it takes to take care of a child with autism.
My major in school is Psychology, after graduating from Nichols I would like to work in a psych ward or do something with people who have mental disabilities. I decided to do this because since i was in high school i was very interested in state schools and why they closed and the history behind them.
My family and my cat are very important to me. I have three older brothers, two sister in laws, two nieces and two nephews.

My name is Patrick Counter and I am from South Hadley Massachusetts, I have lived there my whole life and, want to live thier after college.. The work I do is lawn mowing, leaf removal, raking, and other chores and odd jobs that people want someone to do for them, like cleaing, dishes, laundry, and vacuuming. I am a freshman and I am going to be a Criminal Justice Management major. The hobbies I enjoy to do are to be in the outdoors, I have been fishing for 15 years. Being in the outdoors is one of the most soothing things for me, I can clear my mind and relax. I have been fishing now, for almost 15 years. Being able to fish and share this with his makes this my favorite hobby. Wrestling is a big hobbie because of the people that I had met during my time as a South Hadley wrestler. Wrestling is a physical chess match and thats why I loved it. I played Tennis and suffererd several knee inhuries which kept me of the courts but now away from my team. My Black Lab Mia is the weidest and most awesome dog in the world. She is going to be four this year, and I want to go home this weekend just to play with her.
The things that I hope to learn in this class are to increase my knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Also to improve all of my skills for Microsoft Office. Also to learn how to make a website and a web page.
The blog that I chose to look up was a blog on UFC 156 which is going to be held tonight. I have been a a fan of the UFC for around 5 years because my dad got me interested when he taught me Karate at a young age. This blog is about Frankie Edgar fighting against Jose Aldo for the U
FC Featherweight belt. This blog is just going into the detail of the main card and what the fighter had to say before their fights. Frankie Edgar needs to get Aldo into the later rounds in order to increase the chaces of him winning this fight. Also that Edgar dropped down from the Lightweight division after losing a controversial decision. He has better Cardio but is not used to a weight cut. Edgar lost the fight, this was a very close decision that many thought he prevalied in his fight. Edgar may make a drop to Bantamweight and have a shot at his third UFC title. Also is one of the most dominat fighters and after making one of Edgar's legs useless with relentless strikes which helped him secure a vicotry and reatin his title. This was an interesting fight because Frankie believed he should have won this decision but was unable to win the belt.http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mma-cagewriter/jose-aldo-holds-onto-belt-antonio-rogerio-nogueira-062657045--mma.html#more-id

My name is Caitlin Michalski.  My hometown is Plymouth, Massachusetts.  I graduted from Plymouth South High School in June 2012.  I graduated with not only my high school diploma, but also, with my license of Cosmetology.  My high school was a vocational high school and I was in the Cosmetology program.  From the start of my freshman year in high school, I knew I was going to college after my senior year but wanted to have my license in Cosmetology for a back up plan.  Throughout the years of practiing and perfecting my hair skills, I learned I wasn't as passionate about hair as I thought I had been.  In February of my senior year, I recieved my license and in May I became a receptionist at a local hair salon, Shear Creations.  Having the option to go to beauty school and get a high school education at the same time, is an awesome opportunity.  I am very thankful for all of it.

Currently I live in Dudley, Massachusetts where I go to college.  I go to Nichols College, where I am a freshman.  My major is Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology.  The human mind is very interesting to me and so is dealing with criminals.  Coming into my freshman year, becoming a police officer was what I really saw myself becoming for a career.  As I took psychology courses and learned more about the human brain and how it works, I was fasciniated with how people acted and what made them act the way that they did.  Taking this course, Digital Apps, I hope to learn more about Microsoft softwares and better my computer skills.

The Hair Blog really caught my eye because I love doing hair.  Since my freshman year of high school I have been practicing and perfecting my cosmetology skills; this includes hair, skin, and nails.  In Massachusetts, in order to meet the requirements to go for your cosmetology license, you must have atleast 1,000 hours inshop and class time and your hours start once you hit the age of 16.  In February of my senior year, I recieved my license.  That was honestly one of my greatest accomplishments I have ever done in my life and I was very proud of myself.  While reading The Hair Blog, I found it informational when it talked about the amount of money salons throw down the drain when it comes to overusing and wasting hair color.  From expierence, I know that sometimes measurements are miscalculated but this was a good blog to read about.

Hi, my name is Jamal Taylor. I am a freshman at Nichols College. I was born in Hartford, Connecticut and lived there for 6 years. After six years I moved to a surrounding town called Bloomfield where I stayed for 12 years and currently do. As of Valentines Day in 2013 I will be moving to Manchester, Connecticut. I graduated from Pathways To Technology Magnet High School in Windsor, Connecticut. My high school didn't have any sport teams so if I wanted to play sports, I had to play from my hometown. Since I lived in Bloomfield I had to play for Bloomfield High School. I played football and ran track for Bloomfield High School. As a junior in high school I was on the first indoor track championship team in Bloomfield High School history. It was a great feeling to win a championship and to be a part of making history. Even though I didn't really like track it helped me get in shape for football. Football means everything to me. Ive been playing football since I was in the 8th grade. My dad kind of forced playing football on me, but as I started playing I started to really like it. I was having fun playing because my friends played with me. So I got to see my friends in school and out of school. I love playing the sport of football, it's just something about it that I just love.

I have two older sisters and twin brother and two beautiful nieces and a nephew. Everyone always expects me and my brother to look alike but we don't. People say that my brother looks like my mom and that I look like my father. My family means a lot to me.
In my free time I like to DJ, play video games, or play basketball and football. Over the summer I worked at my first job ever. I worked for the Women's League Child Development Center, where I was an assistant at a summer day care. I worked with kids and watched them as we did various activities such as going to the park, visiting some museums, going to the library, and going to the town pool. It was a great experience for me because I got to make money before I moved to college and I actually got to work with kids that looked up to me.
In this course I plan on learning everything about Microsoft office. In high school I took a Microsoft word and excel test and got a certificate in mastering both of the programs. Since then, Microsoft office has updated so I feel like I could learn more.
A blog that I found online was "Mac's Football Blog". This blog interested me because im a huge football fan. The blog is about the latest updates that happened in the NFL. Just in case you missed sportscenter in the morning you can visit Mac's Football Blog and see what it going on and even what's happening behind scenes. This blog was a great idea and helpful for football fans.

My name is Adam Subervi. I am a freshman here at Nichols College. My current major is "General Business." I hope to refine my presentation skills with this class. I want to learn how to make my presentations more appealing.

The the picture to the left came from a blog that was posted by Matt Moore, from CBS Sports. I chose this specific blog because i am a boston native and a huge Celtics fan. Rajon Rondo (Celtics star point guard) has just recently torn his ACL and will most likley be out for the remainder of the seasson. This has changed not only the Celtics seasson, but possibly alot of other teams as well. Rajon was selected for the all-star game this seasson, which now must be filled from another player. Also there is talk about the celtics not making the playoffs this year now without Rondo. This gives hope to many other Eastern Conference teams.

Alec Trull Intro

Hi, my name is Alec Trull, I am from Lowell, Massachusetts. I have lived in Lowell, MA my whole life in the same house. I attended Lowell public schools all 13 years of school. I went to Lowell High School where I played hockey all four years. I have played hockey my entire life; it is my favorite sport. I played for many different teams in the past 15 years. Most of the time I played for my town travel team, the Greater Lowell Hawks, I also played for my town middle school team, another team in 8th grade and of course 4 years on my high school’s varsity team. I also played on many different teams over the off seasons in high school. In the fall, during preseason, of freshman, sophomore and junior year I played in a league in Billerica, MA consisting of different high school teams in the area. In the summers before sophomore, junior and senior years a lot of my teammates and I played in a league in Burlington, MA which was similar to the Billerica League.
Then, in the fall before my senior year I played for the best team I had ever played for and that was the Valley Junior Warriors. This was the first time I had ever played junior level hockey and it was a big step up from division three high school hockey. It was faster, stronger and more energized hockey. I played with different players from all over the United States and Europe. Two of my teammates were from France, one was from Russia, one was from Chicago and someone else was from California. It was a great experience playing for this team; I met a lot of great people and learned a lot about the game of hockey.
My favorite hockey team of all time is the Boston Bruins. Ever since I was a little kid I have loved the Bruins. I grew up watching their games with my family and although year after year they were knocked out of the playoffs, or didn’t even make the playoffs, I remained a huge fan. Finally, after all the years of suffering, it was all worth it, because in 2011 they won the Stanley Cup. It was an amazing feeling watching my team make it all the way and winning it all. This past year was heart-breaking watching the NHL be locked for month after month and watching more and more games be cancelled. But finally the NHL is back and I couldn’t be happier to see my team back on the ice.
